01 — Start to finish
Six steps.Two tracks.
Find the track that is yours and read down it. Every step waits for your yes before the next one starts.
A photograph taken on your phone is fine, and there is no need to move the piece to take it.

Step 1 of 6. Send a photo
- Restoring yours
- Two from your phone: the piece square on, and the underside where the webbing shows.
- A new headboard
- The wall it goes on, your mattress width, and the height you have.

Step 2 of 6. What we look for
- Restoring yours
- The frame first, then what is under the cover. If it is not worth doing, we say so.
- A new headboard
- Your wall, your fixing, the way in. Brick and plasterboard take different fixings.

Step 3 of 6. Your price, in writing
- Restoring yours
- The work in order, the cloth named, and the marks you want kept rather than erased.
- A new headboard
- The same document, drawn: shape, width, height, face, fixing.

Step 4 of 6. Choose your cloth
- Restoring yours
- Live with a sample in your own light first. A buttoned back forgives a crease.
- A new headboard
- Cloth and shape get chosen together. A plain cloth lets the shape lead.

Step 5 of 6. We build it
- Restoring yours
- The cover comes off and you see what we see. Anything that changes reaches you in photographs.

- Nothing hides inside a new board. Every part of it was settled on the drawing.

Step 6 of 6. Into your room

- It goes back where it came from, and you are told what will bleach the cloth.

- A wall-hung board is fixed on the day. A bolted one goes straight on the bed.
02 — Before anything starts
Nothing is cutuntil you say yes.
You see the whole plan on paper first. Read it, argue with it, or walk away. Nothing has been touched.
What you get in writing
- What we would do to it, in order.
- What we would leave alone, and why.
- Your cloth, finish and fixing, named.
- The price, and anything that would move it.
- Anything still unknown, written as unknown.
03 — Honest advice
Three thingsnot to do.
Three ways people make the job harder before we ever see it. All three are free to avoid.

Do not strip or clean it first.
What is on the surface is evidence. Stripped, the price we send you is a guess.

Do not buy the cloth yet.
A buttoned back swallows far more than a flat one, and a large pattern repeat more again.

Do not bin the part that fell off.
A broken castor or a loose button beats the nearest thing we can match.
